Detailed Bio

Originally an Electrical Engineering Technology graduate David worked for many years in the engineering drafting and design area on gas transmission projects. He then took a lead design role at a major EPC company working on oil sands projects in the Controls Systems area where he provided technical leadership along with coordinating between disciplines and engineering partners. He later displayed his qualities as a fast learner and ventured into doing some related application support. David always displays a willing attitude and enjoys working in a fast-paced collaborative team environment but also works well independently.

David took the opportunity to work in a growing sector and showed his flexibility and commitment to lifelong learning when he successfully completed his Bachelor of Applied Technology in Geographic Information Systems Degree. He then employed these new skills and took on a role of providing quality GIS services within the infrastructure area.

David was selected to be part of the first cohort in the Data Analytics EDGE UP fast-track training program. This program added skills related to data management, IBM SPSS Predictive Analytics Modeler, Microsoft Azure, SQL, Python and Power BI.

These new skills combined with existing skills related to the ESRI suite of ArcGIS applications and engineering tools make David an ideal candidate for many roles. He is now looking for the right opportunity to leverage his skills and knowledge to be part of a dynamic team once again. Preferred roles would be related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Data Analytics but is flexible and open to other opportunities related to data management and engineering and design.
